4. Texas A&M does play D

It’s hard for people to talk about Texas A&M and not bring up Johnny Manziel.

But this current group of Aggie players isn’t just about flash and offense; they like to get after the ball, too.

Last week in a loss to Alabama, Texas A&M surrendered just 27 points.

While that might not seem like a good number, remember that the Crimson Tide are averaging 43 points per game and had scored 66 the week prior vs. Mississippi and 59 in  victory vs. Vanderbilt.

UCLA put a hurt on the A&M stats with 45 points in Week 1, and a wild 50-43 overtime victory vs. Arkansas did too, but in the other four games, Texas A&M has allowed no more than the 27 vs. Bama.

The Aggies rank 63rd overall in total defense, within peaking distance of Southern Cal, MIami and Saturday’s foe, Florida.

Keep an eye out for Tyrel Dodson, Armani Watts and Otaro Alaka, as the trio are the leading tacklers for A&M and have produced eight sacks, five interceptions and 23.5 tackles for loss this year.
