2. No doubting who QB1 is

Ever since Johnny Manziel graced College Station with his incredible play, the Aggies have struggled at the quarterback position.

Highly-ranked recruits have come and gone, failing to live up to the expectations placed on them.

Kellen Mond just might be different.

Mond was thrown to the wolves in the season opener vs. UCLA, as he was expected to sit on the sidelines and watch after losing the job to Nick Starkel. He went just 3-for-17 passing that game, but has constantly improved since.

In a win over Nicholls the following week, Mond completed 57 percent for 105 yards, improving to 301 yards passing and three touchdowns in a victory over Louisiana.

He hit on 52 percent of his throws vs. Arkansas with two touchdowns and added 109 yards rushing, racking up over 250 yards of total offense in the win vs. South Carolina.

Even last week against the vaunted Alabama defense Mond didn’t wilt, completing 19 of 29 for 237 yards and finishing with positive yards on the ground.

For the season, Mond is 88 of 155 for 1,045 yards with seven touchdowns and just three interceptions. He also has 266 yards rushing and two scores.
