2. Shea Patterson is maturing quickly

Could you imagine a quarterback like Shea Patterson maturing before your very eyes? That’s a scary thought, right? Well, that’s exactly what’s happening with the young sophomore as he adds another start to his resume, and this time it resulted in a big win over the Commodores.

Vanderbilt was one of the up-and-coming teams not too long ago and the Commodores were lauded for their defense. However, they have since dropped off and they’re being exposed against offenses such as Alabama, Georgia and even Florida scored 38 points on them.

Patterson proved to be one of the better passers the Commodores have faced this season. He might have been the best pure passer this team has faced and it just shows how far he has come from an up-and-down start to his season to now throwing for over 350 yards and four touchdowns against the Commodores.

This team is on the rise because of the play of its sophomore quarterback and it’s going to continue to improve. He’s getting more confidence and making better decisions as his season progresses.
