Following a bye, the defending national champions rebounding from a disappointing loss two weeks ago against Syracuse, beating Georgia Tech 24-10. That might have been enough, given all the chaos around the college football landscape on Saturday, to find themselves back inside the top four.

Georgia Tech falls to 4-3 (3-2 ACC) with the loss. With the win the Tigers improve to 7-1 (5-1 ACC). Here are three key takeaways from the Tigers’ 24-10 win.

1. The Clemson defense stands tall

Georgia Tech scored their only touchdown of the game and it came with less than give minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Clemson limited an offense that scores 32.5 points per game in ACC play to just 10 points. To achieve that the Tigers had to find a way to limit the triple option.

The Tigers held the Yellow Jackets to 198 yards rushing on 43 carries. That marks a season low in attempts and yards for Georgia Tech. They limited the Yellow Jackets to 3-of-15 third down conversions.

Perhaps the most impressive feat was completely shutting down Georgia Tech quarterback Taquon Marshall. He was just 3-of-13 for 32 yards through the air and limited to 23 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. All in all the Tigers assessed what the Yellow Jackets did well and took it away.
