College Football Playoff Rankings 2017: Who got snubbed in Week 10?
Almost everyone was expecting this snub as Wisconsin, like Miami, hasn’t played anyone yet. Coming from the lackluster Big Ten West, the Badgers of Wisconsin were ranked in the top five of the AP poll, but the playoff rankings weren’t nearly as kind.
In fact, the Badgers were barely a top-10 team when the poll came out Tuesday night, ranking No. 9 in the country. Sitting at 8-0, there’s a good chance that Wisconsin must win out and win the Big Ten title to even be considered for the playoff. Is that possible? Let’s look at the remaining schedule.
The Badgers would almost need a huge upset to finish with a loss in the regular season with Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota left. The Wolverines will be the biggest test, but Michigan hasn’t been all that effective this season.
Paul Chryst has done a fantastic job keeping this program near the top of the conference since Gary Andersen left and he has a talented team at his disposal. However, they will need to win the Big Ten title in order to make the playoff.
