Baylor football, at 0-8, travels to Lawrence in search of their first win. Kansas is 1-7 and is looking for its first conference win this year.
Baylor ran into brick wall in Week 9 that was the Texas defense. Many thought that Texas was ripe for the picking due to challenging quarterback situation. The Texas defense, however, continued its stellar play. Baylor is looking to try again this week against Kansas.
Kansas is coming off a solid performance in Week 9, playing a hard-fought game against in-state rival Kansas State and losing by a score of 30-20. Sophomore Carter Stanley had a day. He went 23-for-48 for 418 yards and a touchdown.
Both of these teams are desperate for a win. For Baylor, it would be first of the year. For Kansas and David Beaty, it would be proving that he is moving the team in the right direction. A loss could spell the end of the Beaty era in Lawrence, though. As for Matt Rhule, he is just hoping for his team to rebound from a bad loss at home in Week 9.

Baylor needs to establish its authority fast and in any way, either on the ground or passing game. Charlie Brewer will be getting his first official start. He played most of game against Texas but shared time with Zach Smith. The latter may not play due to shoulder injury sustained in Week 9.
Along with Smith, middle linebacker Clay Johnston is out for the year, according to Matt Rhule. Johnston is Baylor’s leading tackler. Along with Johnston, the Bears will be without Pooh Stricklin who is also out for remainder of the year. Baylor is going to count on a significant amount of players to step up and fill spots of injured starters.

Prediction
Baylor will be heading into the game without some players who have contributed the most this season. Johnston was one of few players to start every game this season. Smith has been leader ever since he replaced Anu Solomon. That being said, there is still no excuse for Baylor to lose to Kansas.
