Ole Miss and Kentucky face off for the first time since 2011 this week. Here’s everything you need to know for the Saturday evening matchup.

Ole Miss is coming off of an embarrassing loss to Arkansas. A loss in which Ole Miss led 31-7, but lost 38-37. Kentucky on the other hand got back to their winning ways of 2017 with a 3 point victory over Tennessee. The Wildcats are now bowl eligible. The Rebels will have to play their best game to beat Kentucky. Benny Snell Jr. and Stephen Johnson will be an almost impossible duo to stop for the Rebels defense.

Ole Miss, on the other hand, has got to stop the bleeding and get back to the level of play that it was at when it defeated Vanderbilt. The offensive firepower is there, they just need to not turn the ball over in crucial moments such as what happened against Arkansas. The defense has to show up in this game to some level of significance or the Rebels will get blown out, plain and simple.

Here is how you can watch this the Rebels and the Wildcats:

Date: Saturday, Nov. 4
Time: 4:00 p.m. ET
Venue: Commonwealth Stadium
Location: Lexington, Ky.
TV: SEC Network
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Keys to Victory

Kentucky simply has to give the ball to Benny Snell Jr. to win this game. As the Ole Miss defense has demonstrated, if you run the ball, you’ll win. Arkansas made some really stupid calls last week when they would throw on third or fourth down. Why? All they had to do was run the ball. You don’t have to be cute to beat the Ole Miss defense. Containing the Rebel offense might be a different story. But when the Wildcats will be able to score at will it won’t matter what the Rebel offense does.

For the Rebels, their offense needs to do what they did in the first half against Arkansas, but then sustain that for the entire game. Jordan Ta’amu should be more comfortable at the quarterback spot and has all the weapons he needs on offense. Just protect the ball and all should go well. The defense isn’t going to win this game for Ole Miss. The offense has to score touchdowns on every possession. It’s that simple. That’s the only way the Rebels win this game.

Prediction

Ole Miss might be able to stay in this game strictly due to their offense. But at this rate, Ole Miss doesn’t have the defense to stop the Kentucky ground game. Which is why I think Kentucky wins this game. It won’t be a blowout, but the Wildcats will win it.

Final Score: Kentucky 42, Ole Miss 35
