1. Jaylen Samuels can do everything

There is not one standout player in this NFL Draft class at tight end. Oklahoma’s Mark Andrews, Penn State’s Mike Gesicki, NC State’s Jaylen Samuels, etc. each have the potential to be a first round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

With the injury issues that Hines has dealt with in recent weeks, Samuels has even been lining up at running back often. Samuels actually got the bulk of the carries for the Wolfpack with Finley and Hines each getting a few attempts.

He did not get as much work in the passing game as wide receivers Kelvin Harmon and Jakobi Meyers led the way. The versatility of Samuels is the biggest weapon that the NC State offense has.

The fact that Clemson had to prepare and account for a multitude of ways that the NC State offense could use Samuels opened up space for the rest of its players. Samuels also finished with at least one touchdown in both the run and passing game. The issue was he dropped one when it mattered most.
