1. UCLA might not be headed to a bowl for the second straight year

For the second straight season under Jim Mora, the Bruins might be headed home for the holidays. While that doesn’t seem like a bad thing, but that just means these guys won’t be playing in a bowl game during the holiday season, instead watching bowls from the comfort of their own homes — not good.

The Bruins’ loss to Utah on Friday drops them to 4-5 on the year with three tough games remaining. First, the suddenly-hot Arizona State Sun Devils will come to town in Week 11 which could very well be a loss for the struggling Bruins.

After the Arizona State game, the Bruins will travel to Los Angeles to take on USC. The Trojans haven’t been living up to the hype this season, but that doesn’t mean they will take this crosstown rivalry lightly.

Those two could easily be losses, but the final game of the season against Cal is the most winnable of the bunch. The Golden Bears have won just one Pac-12 game heading into Week 10, but 5-7 will not make the Bruins bowl eligible. There could be some 5-7 bowl teams this season, though, but it’s also possible the Bruins lose out.
