Stanford football needs one more win and some help to clinch the Pac-12 North title. Here are three bold predictions for their final conference game against Cal.

Everyone wrote the Stanford Cardinal off a long time ago. They began the season with a resounding win over Rice, but back-to-back losses against USC and San Diego State knocked them out of the national picture.

Now, sitting at 7-3, Stanford is closing in on a Pac-12 North Championship. If Washington beats Washington State in the Apple Cup the Cardinal will advance to the conference championship game. Not a bad resurrection story for coach David Shaw‘s team, indeed.

In order to get their, though, they’ll first half to beat a dangerous Cal team. Cal (5-5) smashed No. 8 Washington State 37-3, forcing a potential College Football Playoff contender to bench their starting quarterback and leading passer in school history. They took Khalil Tate and Arizona to overtime at home but fell just short.

Cal wants to earn bowl eligibility. If they can’t do it this weekend against the Cardinal they’ll have one more chance against UCLA in their season finale next weekend.
