2. Ross Bowers has more interceptions than touchdowns

Ross Bowers has been serviceable in his first season at the helm of Cal’s offense. He enters their Week 12 game with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on the season. While that equates to an average of  1.7 touchdowns and 1.1 interceptions per game his performance has been anything but steady.

Bowers has thrown multiple interceptions four times this season. He’s had five multi-touch down games. Only twice has he managed both of those feats at the same time. That makes for a hot or cold player thrown into a challenging road environment.

Strangely enough, Bowers has been almost better on the road than he’s been at home. The redshirt sophomore has thrown 10 touchdowns on the road with only three interceptions but those numbers begin to break down when you look at the detail. Bowers threw for 80 yards on 18 attempts in a loss at Washington. His best two road starts came against North Carolina and Colorado.

Bowers road successes come to a swift and unceremonious end with multiple turnovers and few bright spots to smooth them over.
