2. Despite the loss, Razorbacks didn’t quit

A team that is 4-6 with very little other than a mid-level bowl game to play for usually coasts at the end of the year, looking ahead to the next season and what improvements can be made. For Arkansas, though, quitting is not in the vocabulary — at least not yet.

Racing out to a 14-0 lead, Arkansas looked like the team people expected at he beginning of the season. Although the Razorbacks stalled out and didn’t quite finish strong, they played hard the entire game against a team that came in expecting an easy win.

Mississippi State was coming off a near-win over Alabama which would be enough to pump any team up, but the Bulldogs came out a little flat on Saturday. The Razorbacks took advantage early, but Dan Mullen got his team back in the game and eventually pull out the win.

You have to give Arkansas credit for hanging with the nation’s No. 16 team after a disastrous season which saw the AD get fired, Bret Bielema’s hot seat get even hotter and the Razorbacks miss a bowl — barring some five-win teams getting a bid.
