2. NC State is the next team in ACC Atlantic

With all of the stuff going on in Tallahassee, NC State just sneaked ahead of them in line to bring down the Clemson Tigers. NC State is probably the only team besides Alabama to play them close last year and this year. Last year, they came a kick away from beating the Tigers at home. And this year, they were one possession shy from upsetting the Tigers. NC State’s only Atlantic loss this year was to Clemson.

NC State with their great crowd mixed with the Doeren defense and good offense have turned the Wolfpack into a respectable conference. They went from 3-5 in the conference for the past three years to 6-2 this year. Every year since 2012, they have been slowly climbing the ACC Atlantic ladder. In 2012, they finished 7th and this year they finished second.

And it could just be perfect timing. Florida State could be losing their head coach and Louisville could be losing their Heisman-winning quarterback to the NFL Draft. NC State is not a trap game now. It’s a battle.
