1. Liberty Bowl (Big 12 vs. SEC)

The most likely outcome for West Virginia is the first appearance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl since the 2014 campaign. That was the first season where Howard saw some significant action under center with the Mountaineers.

In that 2014 Liberty Bowl appearance for West Virginia, they were defeated by Cleveland Browns first overall pick and former Aggies defensive end Myles Garrett. This time around, it would likely be the Missouri Tigers that the Mountaineers would get.

Facing a talented quarterback from the SEC like Drew Lock would be quite the challenge for Holgorsen’s squad. Yet, West Virginia is used to playing top-tier quarterbacks like that of Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph and Heisman favorite Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Mizzou is also used to facing Big 12 teams in bowl games recently. A good result for the Tigers came in a 2013 Cotton Bowl victory over Oklahoma State. West Virginia should face them in the Mountaineers fourth straight bowl appearance.
