Michigan Football: 3 early signees who’ll have instant impact in 2018
Playing for nearly Dearborn (Mich.) Divine Child and being a Michigan legacy recruit, Aidan Hutchinson knew he wanted to be a Wolverine for some time. Although he was being recruited heavily, he committed to the Wolverines in February and signed with Michigan on Wednesday to kick off the early signing period.
The four-star defensive end has the ideal frame to become a menace in that defensive line and potentially fill a void left behind by Chase Winovich. Although Aubrey Solomon returns along with Rashan Gary and Carlo Kemp at the defensive end positions, along with others from the 2016 class, Hutchinson could have an immediate impact.
Hutchinson’s motor is impressive and he’s quick off the ball and strong at the point of contact. He can get low and drive would-be blockers back with relative ease and he will fit in quite nicely on that defensive line which has been nightmare-inducing for opponents over the last couple of years.
Don Brown will have fun molding the 6-foot-6, 260-pound end into one of the best in the Big Ten. He’s currently ranked No. 167 overall in the class and he’s listed as the eighth-best strong-side defensive end, according to 247Sports.
