4. Jordyn Peters, Safety

This true freshman made a splash for the Auburn in 2017. Although he didn’t have much playing time, when he was on the field he contributed the best he knew how. Now, with much of the Auburn defense graduating or declaring early, 2018 will be his season to shine.

As shown below, Peters was proud of the freshman season he put together. It exceeded the expectations he set for himself. Look for him to be a big name for the Tiger’s secondary in 2018.

This kid has an interesting story. His freshman year of high school, a late hit from behind tore his patella tendon and cracked the growth plate in his knee.

For a kid just starting high school, an injury like that is a huge set back physically and mentally. Five years later, he now looks at the injury as a blessing in disguise. “I thank God that I could recover and overcome that to get where I am now,” Peters said in an interview with SEC Country. “You never know, without the injury, I might not be who I am now. I don’t know, something else might’ve happened. So I thank God for it.”

This kid is powerful, tough and a fighter. The 2018 season will be his on the defensive side of the ball, watch out.
