This list featured a ton of offensive recruiting prospects for the Rebels. Now, it’s time to turn the attention to the side of the ball that the Rebels need to fix the fastest. Ole Miss loses its best defensive lineman, in defensive end Marquis Haynes.

Breeland Speaks also would have been a rising senior, but he decided to declare early for the 2018 NFL Draft. With Ole Miss losing so much along the defensive line, it’s important to have some players coming in that can help replace the depth immediately.

Four-star defensive tackle Michael Thompson would help lineman like rising juniors Josiah Coatney and Benito Jones in the rotation. As the No. 4 defensive tackle in the nation, Thompson is a hot commodity around the college football world.

The St. Louis, MO, native is mostly being pursued by the Sooners and Mizzou Tigers. The USC Trojans and Crimson Tide could also have a chance to snag him. Yet, if Thompson decides to go a different route with an SEC program where he could make an immediate difference, Ole Miss is a great choice. It’s a possibility that Luke could pull off a stunner by landing Thompson come National Signing Day.
