With 2018 National Signing Day approaching, who are the top five remaining recruiting targets for Florida football and Dan Mullen?

Dan Mullen is already paying big dividends for Florida. The Gators hired Mullen this offseason after letting Jim McElwain go and many are excited about the new direction of the program. He brings a tough attitude to Gainesville.

The Gators have a solid 2018 recruiting class but it has the opportunity to get even better on National Signing Day with a handful of top targets left on the board.

Who are the Gators’ top five remaining National Signing Day targets in the 2018 class?

Four-star defensive end Andrew Chatfield is one of the top remaining targets in the class out of the state of Florida. The Gators are pushing for him, but so is Miami. Heck, even Florida State and Oklahoma are making last-second pushes to land the top recruit.

Chatfield’s final official visit on Jan. 26 was to Gainesville and it’s usually the last one which has the advantage. While it looks to be down to the Gators and Miami Hurricanes, Dan Mullen may have won this recruitment.

The Fort Lauderdale-native is a bit undersized for a defensive end, standing just 6-foot-2 and weighing in at about 220 pounds. In fact, he is built more like a linebacker, but you wouldn’t know it by watching his highlight reel. He plays much bigger.

Chatfield is ranked as the No. 213 overall recruit and 13th-best weak-side defensive end in the class, according to 247Sports.
