Louisville could use a solid running back and three-star Zidane Thomas is just that. However, the Cardinals may be third in the running to land the Peoria, Ariz., native. He’s leaning heavily toward San Diego State, staying out west, and Utah is also in the running.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with picking San Diego State as the Aztecs have been producing quality running backs over the years. Young backs on the West Coast have to be drooling at the idea of becoming the next 2,000-yard rusher for the Aztecs.

Thomas is a strong-bodied running back at 5-foot-10 and 205 pounds and he’s always running down hill, which is a major plus. You can’t teach toughness at the position, nor can you teach vision, but Thomas has both of those.

The bulky prospect is listed as the No. 771 overall recruit and 40th-best running back in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports.
