The outlook for Stanford football is going to be extremely bright for 2018 as long as Bryce Love is in the backfield. Who else can make an impact?

Stanford football had some great pulls during the festivities of the 2018 edition of National Signing Day. The entire PAC-12 had some work to do, to join the ranks of the rest of the Power Five conferences, on the recruiting trail. And, that’s exactly what the bulk of the PAC-12 programs were able to do.

While Stanford’s best prospect landed on NSD will not play for another two years, due to a church mission during that span of time, it still sets the Cardinal up well for years to come. That player is four-star pro-style quarterback Tanner McKee. Yet, McKee is not the only four-star quarterback prospect in this recruiting class.

McKee is the highest rated prospect in Stanford’s class, by a good margin. But, he will not be present in Palo Alto at least until the 2020 campaign. Fellow four-star pro-style quarterback Jack West is the next highest rated player in this class.

Outside of McKee and West, there’s three other four-star commits locked up for the Cardinal. In total, the Cardinal had 15 commits in the recruiting class. Yet, none of those 15 commits enrolled early, which could hurt the playing time in the early going for the prospects.

With those 15 recruits locked up in the 2018 class, Stanford registered at the No. 39 ranked group in the nation, and seventh best in the PAC-12. David Shaw did manage to finish his program ahead of the Arizona Wildcats, Cal Golden Bears, and Washington State Cougars.

The return of a wealth of talent for Stanford on both sides of the ball eliminates the pressing priority to fill in open holes with freshmen. However, here’s 3 commits that can make an instant impact for the Stanford Cardinal in 2018.
