If Jeremy Ruckert was ranked on confidence levels only, he’d be close to No. 1 in the country. The five-star tight end from New York happens to be the No. 1 player at the position in the class as well as 18th-best overall.

This kid is a special talent, and he knows it. He lined up as a receiver plenty at the high school level,  showing that he has plenty of speed to burn. He’s quicker than you would think for a 6-foot-5.5, 240-pound tight end and he can cause major mismatches at the next level.

When you think of a tight end, you think of a big, bulky pass-catcher who is there as a glorified offensive lineman. Ruckert has broken that mold.

The best tight ends in the NFL nowadays can run, catch and block, the the latter is almost forgotten. Ruckert will fit right in to the Buckeyes’ scheme and there’s a chance he could compete for a starting spot with Marcus Baugh gone.

Ruckert is going to be a star at Ohio State.
