The other linebacker signee in Stanford’s 2018 class is Jacob Mangum-Farrar, and yes, he has the same chance to become an instant linebacker as Caleb Kelly. Both are aggressive, athletic linebackers who would do an incredible job replacing the four seniors departing.

While both Kelly and Mangum-Farrar are listed as outside linebackers, there’s a chance they could transition to the inside at the next level, depending on need. They also both have the same body type as Mangum-Farrar stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 210 pounds.

The four-star from Sugar Land, Texas, is listed as the No. 316 overall prospect and 23rd-best outside linebacker in the nation.

Mangum-Farrar is an aggressive linebacker with impressive patience and the ability to read plays with the best of them. One of the plays that stood out the most in his highlight film was his read on a screen play where he didn’t bite and saw the running back peel out to the flat, making a play immediately. This kid is going to be good.
