This list seems like it’s loaded with newcomers at defensive back positions, and that’s because it’s one of the biggest needs heading into the 2018 season. With three of four starters graduating or leaving for the NFL, the Cardinals need to make some decisions about which newcomers should contend for starting jobs.

Chandler Jones is one of the early enrollees for the Cardinals which gives him a leg up on the aforementioned Jairus Brents. Although the latter is the higher-rated prospect who seemed to be a bigger get at the time of his commitment, Jones has about the same body type and is just as impressive at cornerback.

Jones held about half the offers Brents did before he signed with the Cardinals and the Miami, Fla., native is just trying to become the next impact corner a-la Jaire Alexander.

The three-star cornerback from Florida is ranked the No. 385 prospect and 36th-best cornerback in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports. It’ll be interesting to see his progression during spring ball.
