3. Can Malik Willis prove to be the future under center?

While incoming freshman, and early enrollee, Joey Gatewood has the potential to be a star under center for the Tigers, there’s one quarterback already who’s been on the roster for a couple of years now who might just take over for Stidham when he departs.

That quarterback is soon-to-be sophomore Malik Willis. He came to Auburn as a three-star athlete from Atlanta, Ga., and looked effective in his short time on the field in 2017. In fact, he passed for 45 yards and a touchdown on 6-of-7 completions. He also proved his dual-threat ability with 221 yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries.

Does Willis have a future under center or will he be forced into a position change with the emergence of Gatewood? That’ll be something to keep an eye on as spring rolls along.

Clearly the Tigers have nothing but good problems on their hands at the quarterback position which is a nice change of pace from the previous question mark-ridden seasons.
