1. Will Adrian Martinez take command of the starting job?

The starting quarterback job is a major question mark heading into the 2018 season as there are zero returners with extensive experience.

Unfortunately, Scott Frost isn’t going to have someone like McKenzie Milton with him in Lincoln as the UCF star decided to stay put and return for his final season with the Knights. He’ll be hoping that Adrian Martinez can be similar to Milton in the way he could run and pass equally effectively.

There’s a quarterback battle on Frost’s hands in Lincoln between Martinez, a true freshman early enrollee, along with Andrew Bunch and Tristan Gebbia, a former four-star prospect in the 2017 class. While all three seem to be on the same level this spring, there is hype surrounding Martinez as he was the Cornhuskers’ highest-rated early enrollee and has dual-threat abilities.

Moreover, Martinez may remind fans of former Nebraska dual-threat Taylor Martinez who has the same body frame. Their styles could be eerily similar.

There’s no true leader for the job yet, but come April 21, the front-runner may be made clear.
