4. Which five-star safety will start?

Losing DeShon Elliott from the safety spot a year before his eligibility was exhausted definitely puts a damper on the defensive backfield, but Brandon Jones returns for his junior season after recording 61 tackles and two pass deflections as a sophomore. Jason Hall is also gone, which makes depth seem like an issue heading into spring at safety.

However, the Longhorns are bringing in two — yes, two — five-star safeties in the 2018 class and, that’s right, both are early enrollees.

Caden Sterns was ranked the No. 1 safety in the 2018 class out of Cibolo, Texas, and was the 19th-best recruit in the country. He was an Army All-American and would have been the favorite to replace Elliott if it wasn’t for fellow five-star safety BJ Foster.

Foster, an Angelton, Texas, native, is the No. 24 prospect in the class and third-best safety. Both are similar in size at around 6-1 and 190 pounds, but which one will stand out as the worthy replacement?

Heck, it could be someone already on the roster, but my money is on one of these impressive five-stars to start.
