Texas A&M undrafted free agents

The Aggies will likely have three undrafted free agents by the end of the weekend, each with a bright future ahead of him. While they are not the cream of the crop or the big, headlining names of this years draft, they will each make a team very lucky in the coming months as they prepare for the 2018 season.

The first of these is Damion Ratley, a senior receiver who defied everyone’s doubts and has made a name for himself. After a strong pro day showing, he could be on quite a few team’s list in terms of free agents in the offseason. One team seemingly interested is the Denver Broncos, a place I could see Ratley fitting in very well.

The next free agent will be running back Keith Ford. With only one year in Maroon and White, Aggie fans don’t know everything there is to know about him or his development since leaving high school. He is a one speed back who at times lacks vision of the field as a whole. Ford’s best bet will be to establish himself as a short yardage back. His off-the-field attitude has been called into question by those who have followed him since his days at Oklahoma, but his on field power may allow a team to overlook any doubts based on that.

The last will be punter Shane Tripucka. He sat behind Drew Kaser for a couple years, waiting for his turn to shine. All of that waiting paid off as he was arguably the most consistent player on the field for Texas A&M in 2016 and 2017. He set a school record with 27 punts placed inside the 20-yard-line while producing zero touchbacks. The Aggies are well known for special teams and Tripucka is another in a long line of stars from that unit.
