2. Devwah Whaley may be in for a big season

Two running backs who Chad Morris has mentioned who have stood out this spring are Chase Hayden and Devwah Whaley. The latter was expected to break out in 2017 after the injury-based retirement of backfield mate Rawleigh Williams III following the 2016 campaign, but he struggled to really gain traction.

Whaley finished with 559 yards and seven touchdowns on 4.4 yards per touch — total yards and yards per carry were a step back from his freshman numbers.

However, he has stepped up this spring and is running hard again. He has been one of the more consistent players, per Morris, and looked the part in the spring game, rushing eight times for 62 yards, chunking the defense multiple times.

Entering his junior season, Whaley looks primed for a breakout, which was expected from him as a sophomore. If he can remain healthy and run as hard as he did in the spring scrimmage, the Razorbacks may have an All-SEC caliber backfield.
