Dan Mullen spent nine seasons in Starkville, MS as the Mississippi State football head coach. Although his lifetime record of 69-46 doesn’t sound awe inspiring, Mullen was able to take the Bulldogs to incredible heights during an era in which Auburn and Alabama won a combined six national titles.
2018 marks the first year since 2008 that Bulldogs fans will see someone else on the sideline wearing the maroon and white. Mullen has since accepted the head coaching job with the Florida Gators, ushering the way for the beginning of the Joe Moorhead era at Mississippi State.
Moorhead joins the Bulldogs following a two-year stint as the offensive coordinator at Penn State. He carries with him four years of head coaching experience with the Fordham Rams from 2012 to 2015 and is considered to be one of the most innovative offensive minds in the game.
The SEC West isn’t a forgiving division, and the Bulldogs have done everything they can to meet the challenge with tenacity. Will they be able to continue rolling in 2018 with a new head coach?
