Michigan State football: Spartans land 2019 running back Brandon Wright
Michigan State football landed their second commit of the night when running back Brandon Wright committed to the Spartans.
Michigan State football got a commitment Thursday evening from 2019 running back Brandon Wright. The news caught many people off guard, not because he isn’t a great player, but because he’s so quiet on social media and doesn’t publicize his recruitment.
I was able to speak with Wright about his commitment to the Spartans. Wright told me
"I’m glad to be part of a great program like Michigan State. I was offered by great schools, but there was just something that stuck out about Michigan State, that I just had to commit. I feel like Michigan State is going to set me up for a bright future, on and off the field when I leave there. I just can’t wait to put on the green and white uniform, and be the next great back at Michigan State."
Brandon Wright is a 6-foot-2 222 pound running back from Euclid, Ohio. He is a very strong, physical runner with really good speed and wiggle. In his highlights, you see a running back who runs over defenders, stiff arms them into the turf, or even hits them with a juke or spin move. He also has the ability to hit the crease and take it to the end zone.
Talking to him, it became very obvious that he is a very humble person who doesn’t look for attention and lets his play on the field speak for itself. He wanted to make sure I mentioned his offensive linemen, because “they’re the reason he looks so impressive on his tape. Darius, Phil, Jalen and Berry, those are my guys.”

He told me he’s had the MSU offer for a while, and just prefers to be quiet with that stuff. Coach Salem and the rest of the coaches were all excited and glad he chose Michigan State.
The Michigan State recruiting class is now up to thirteen commits. Wright is the first running back to commit to the Spartans, and they will most likely add one more to the class
