Texas A&M football added another blue-chip recruit to the 2019 class, pushing the Aggies closer and closer to the No. 1 class in the nation.

The Aggies have already found themselves in uncharted territory thanks to the recruiting prowess of new head coach Jimbo Fisher. Known for his ability to bring in top-tier talent at Florida State, Fisher hasn’t missed a beat in his new local. His early successes with the 2018 class have rolled into the 2019 class which currently sits at No. 2 in the nation.

On Friday the Aggies’ received a commitment from 4-star running back Isaiah Spiller. He’s the 11th blue-chip recruit in the Aggies’ 2019 class. The continued parade of playmakers has put the Aggies squarely in position for a historic haul. As far as things stand right now, Texas A&M football has a chance to finish with the No. 1 class in the nation.

Texas A&M is a few select pieces away from achieving that goal. Adding defensive end Marcus Stripling, cornerback Jeffery Carter plus one more 5-star recruit will catapult the Aggies’ into the top position. The most likely 5-star to join the Aggies is Mississippi linebacker Nakobe Dean.

Dean is the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2019 class and, as expected, has offers from every major recruiting power in the country. Securing a commitment from Dean would be yet another landmark victory for Fisher against college football’s elite and one more stake to the Aggies’ claim of recruiting dominance.

The Alabama Crimson Tide, who currently hold the No. 1 spot, aren’t going to stop recruiting and wait for the Aggies to catch up. The remainder of the program inside the top 10 aren’t going to slow down either.

With the bulk of their 2019 class intact Fisher and his staff will turn their attention to a handful of game-changing players. How they fare in those recruiting battles will determine how high the Aggies finish in the 2019 ranks. Whether that’s No. 1 or No. 10, the Aggies appear to be here to stay.
