Another team that’ll be featuring a new head coach who is already quite familiar with the SEC is Tennessee led by former Alabama assistant Jeremy Pruitt.

This will be one of those tough early-season matchups that will test the mental strength of the Gators while also gauging just how far they have to go to be competitive in this league. The same could be said for the Volunteers, though.

Tennessee definitely wants this rematch after last season’s Hail Mary win where Feleipe Franks heaved a pass behind midfield to Tyrie Cleveland in the end zone with time expiring. This game will be just as competitive with the Gators and Volunteers trying to prove that they belong in the conversation for the SEC East title.

Knoxville isn’t the easiest place to play and the Gators will come out rather sloppy, but catch fire in the second half to close the early gap.

Luckily for Florida, Tennessee doesn’t have a good run defense, so expect Scarlett to rush for over 150 yards and a couple of touchdowns. The Volunteers’ secondary is much better, but Franks is almost a lock to out-duel whoever starts at quarterback for Tennessee — the Volunteers have yet to name a starter.

Final Score: Florida 30, Tennessee 26 (4-0, 2-0 SEC)
