Oklahoma Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2018 season
The Chip Kelly era has begun at UCLA and Bruins fans should be more than excited. They finally have a head coach who has proven himself at the collegiate level and who also has plenty of Pac-12 experience. Everyone wants to see how he fares in year one and the excitement level is at an all-time high.
However, he’ll be tasked with leading the Bruins into Norman in Week 2, looking to pull off an upset over one of the top-10 teams in the country.
UCLA doesn’t quite know what to think of its quarterback position right now as Devon Modster looks to be the favorite to start after throwing for 671 yards and four touchdowns last season, but he’ll have to hold off highly-touted true freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Oklahoma will be able to control the aerial attack as Modster may be splitting snaps with Thompson-Robinson, especially if he gets off to a slow start.
Moreover, the Bruins haven’t had a run game in years. Will that change with Kelly in charge? Inevitably, but it won’t start against the Sooners.
Final Score: UCLA 24, Oklahoma 35 (2-0)
