1. Stanford gets revenge in a big way

It was one of the more shocking upsets last season as San Diego State pulled off the unthinkable, downing the Cardinal in a late-night battle in San Diego.

Stanford hasn’t forgotten about that defeat which could have been the difference between a New Year’s Six bowl and the Alamo Bowl, which they lost against TCU. If they had beaten San Diego State on the road, the Cardinal may have had more confidence early on and maybe they use that to get revenge on USC in the Pac-12 Championship.

The past is the past, though, and Stanford will get revenge for last year’s tough defeat, starting the season off on the right foot.

Not only will Stanford get revenge, but the Cardinal will dismantle the Aztecs in Palo Alto, Calif., winning by three scores.

This one will be close for the first half, but KJ Costello’s breakout performance will make all the difference as Stanford wins 42-21.
