3. Dwayne Haskins is here to stay

Dwayne Haskins played excellent in the victory. Although he led the Buckeyes to a victory over Michigan last year, it wasn’t a given that he would be the starter for most of camp. Haskins proved he will be the quarterback for the foreseeable future of Ohio State. He finished the first half of the game with 3 touchdown passes on 14-18 passing with 164 yards.

The second half he continued his great play and finished the night 22-30 for 313 yards and five touchdowns. There were moments when Tate Martell made it into the game in specific running situations, but even on drives that Martell started Haskins was put in on the obvious passing downs to make sure the offense kept the chains moving in the first half.

The Beavers’ defense had a tough time getting pressure on him and he was able to pick apart the secondary. His favorite target looks to be Terry McLaurin as he caught four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.

Expect Haskins to continue his strong play in Week 2 against the Scarlet Knights.
