West Virginia football dominated the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 1. Which players earned Blitz stickers with their individual performances?

After a bit of a rain delay, the Mountaineers of West Virginia took down the Tennessee Volunteers in dominant fashion.

West Virginia got on the board first with a field goal at the 11-minute mark in the first quarter. They followed it up with Will Grier’s first of five touchdown passes as the Senior signal-caller found TJ Simmons across the middle for a score.

Not much would be done in the second quarter due in part to the rain. The Vols would cut the lead to 13-7 going into halftime.

After an hour long delay at the half, Will Grier led the Mountaineers on a 68-yard drive that was capped off by a 33-yard touchdown pass to the touchdown machine David Sills V. It wouldn’t take long for WVU to put numbers on the board yet again with Grier hitting Gary Jennings Jr. on a 28-yard pass for his third touchdown pass for the day.

Between the end of the third quarter and the end of the game, West Virginia outscored Tennessee 14-7 behind the arm of Will Grier and the hands of David Sills V.

Many Heisman Hopefuls saw their chances lessen this week and Will Grier was not among them. The Florida-transfer went 25/34 with 429 yards and five touchdowns against a rebuilding Tennessee defense.

David Sills V continues to be the favorite target of Will Grier by leading in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns with a stat line of seven receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Now that the narrative has been written, let’s hand out some Blitz Stickers.
