2. Youngstown State will score more than Tennessee did

The 2018 Tennessee Volunteers were about as easy a season-opening opponent as the Mountaineers have had in a decade, scoring only 14 points and surrendering 40 to West Virginia. The Youngstown State Penguins will score at least 14 against WVU, if not more.

In their season-opener, the Penguins put 21 points on the scoreboard in a losing effort against Butler. Youngstown State accounted for nearly 500 offensive yards, though, throwing for 234 and rushing for 235 yards, respectively.

West Virginia will be forced to make adjustments following a few Week 1 injuries, giving the Penguins just enough leeway to wiggle out more than 14 measly points. The WVU secondary is still a big question mark, and YSU could take advantage of their shortcomings if things aren’t patched up.

Don’t expect this game to be a competitive one, though. Sure, each squad will start the game with a score of zero, but with Grier and Co. coming back to Morgantown for their home-opener, the ‘Eers could look to make a statement against the over-matched Penguins.
