4. Jimbo Fisher was the head coach the Aggies needed

When the Aggies signed Kevin Sumlin, many were excited. When Sumlin and company knocked off Alabama in 2012 and started their tenure in the SEC with a 10-2 season, people were ecstatic.

However, that quickly dissolved in the midst of underachieving teams and November collapses. As a result, he was sent packing at the end of the 2017 and a large chunk of change was forked over to lure Jimbo Fisher from Florida State.

It is obvious to everyone that with Fisher at the helm, this is a completely different team than Sumlin led in the previous years. First things first, not one player was smiling on their way into the locker room after the gut wrenching defeat at the hands of the Clemson Tigers. Every player had a determined and disappointed look on their face. The lesson there? No moral victories for this team anymore. There will be no more “hey we were close.” This is about making the dream happen.

After the extremely questionable “touchback” call, Fisher laid into the ref. That is a coach who is passionate about his team and what they can do. All in all, everything that Fisher does shows his confidence in his team and the abilities that they have. That confidence has shown in the way this team has played so far and will likely continue to play in the future.
