Texas A&M Football: 3 Bold Predictions vs. Louisiana-Monroe
By Shelbie Warr
3. We see all of the Aggie quarterbacks in this one.
As it stands right now, the Aggies have three quarterbacks that have gotten reps this season. We start with the most obvious in Kellen Mond. The true sophomore has already shown how much he grew up under a new coaching staff this offseason. After standing toe to toe with the likes of the Clemson defense, many Aggie fans are singing his praises and calling for the start of a Heisman campaign. He will start the game against ULM, eventually giving way to a few others.
Next is Nick Starkel– a kid who opened his Aggie career with a beautiful first half of football against UCLA in the 2017 season. However, his most recent play has turned Aggie fans away from him. He played one down against Clemson while Mond had a cramp and promptly coughed up the ball. Does that one play determine what Starkel will be to this program going forward? No, probably not and we will likely see him on Saturday night.
Last is Connor Blumrick. He redshirted in 2017 and made his Aggie debut against Northwestern State in the forth quarter. Blumrick showed poise and the ability to make plays with his feet- much like Mond does. If Jimbo Fisher continues to run a Kellen Mond friendly offense after Mond is gone, Blumrick may just be the next man up. We will likely see him on Saturday night as well.
