3. No overtime will be necessary

Last year, in the rematch of the 2005 National Championship Game, Texas took the Trojans to double overtime before ultimately falling by a field goal in the end. To say that fans were unhappy and disappointed is an understatement.

At this point, finding a Texas fan that actually feels fully confident in this team is like finding a needle in a haystack. As it stands now, Texas is actually favored to win this game. Why? I don’t know, they don’t let me make the odds. I just write about them.

What I can tell you is that either way this game swings, I don’t see overtime being a necessity. It likely won’t come down to 20 seconds and one play by the quarterback, either — looking at you Vince Young. Could this game be exciting? Sure, any game can be. I just don’t see this one being a down to the wire match up or one that will take more than 60 minutes.

Is this my Aggie bias talking or the fact that Texas has yet to prove that they truly are “back” after Mack Brown was let go and Charlie Strong and then Tom Herman took over? The world may never know. For the sake of Texas fans, I do hope that this one is more exciting than I think it will be.
