1. Florida quarterbacks continue to disappoint

Franks could’ve been removed from this game and I don’t know if anyone would’ve noticed. It may have increased Florida’s chances of winning the game. Franks finished just 8-for-15 for 119 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. His interception was a badly underthrown ball in the middle of the field and most of his throws were short, safe underneath passes.

Florida did most of its damage running the football and most of the passes by Franks worked in effect like run plays. Consistently on long passing downs, Franks would dump the ball off to a safety valve and it was imperative for the Gators to have success on early downs if they wanted to sustain drives.

This is just one week removed from Franks completing just 44 percent of his passes in a loss to Kentucky. It continues Florida’s struggle to find consistency at the quarterback position, something that has held the team back from competing for SEC and National Championships in recent years.
