2. North Carolina gave up by the second half and it was obvious.

As much credit as you have to give to Miami for this one, you also have to look at their opponent and how they responded to adversity throughout the game. North Carolina has given the Hurricanes fits the last few seasons, but this year was not one of those seasons. This one was all about the Miami defense, who we will discuss here in a minute.

By the time the clock hit zero on the first half, North Carolina had all but given up hope on this one. Their body language told us that. Walking into the locker room, this team looked like they were losing by 100. Is 33-10 a big halftime deficit? Sure. However, it isn’t impossible to come back from.

While the Tar Heels defense didn’t give up, the offense sure did. Miami was not as potent on offense in the second half, but the North Carolina offense did not do anything to respond. They walked around looking confused and disappointed. They can’t blame it on not having a set starting quarterback because neither did Miami and look what they were able to accomplish.

Sorry North Carolina, but your team just decided to give this one to the Hurricanes from the get-go.
