Florida football won a painfully low scoring game, wrapping up Dan Mullen‘s return to Starkville on a high note and earning their fourth win in the process.

In a game which featured one touchdown, thrown by a wide receiver on a double pass, Florida emerged victorious. Former Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen’s highly-anticipated return to Starkville was largely uneventful as his team won a low-scoring, somewhat unexciting game that will more than likely knock his former team out of the Top 25.

If things break the right way in some other contests in Week 5, Florida could find itself with enough votes to secure a Top 25 ranking. Their stunning loss to Kentucky is looking more and more reasonable every week, and they’ve taken care of business outside of that lone defeat. It hasn’t been pretty, but they’ve been winning. Something they’ve now officially done more than Mississippi State.

Can the Gators continue their success against LSU in Week 6? Maybe not, but that’s a story for another day. As is Mississippi State’s upcoming tilt with the Auburn Tigers. For now, let’s take a look at what we learned about each team in Week 4.
