Texas A&M Football: 5 overreactions from stressful Southwest Classic

4. Once again, the Aggie defense saved the day
The Aggie offense wasn’t exactly what they could have been against an already struggling Arkansas team. The Razorbacks do have a few shining spots on their team, but not enough to make this game as close as it was. While the offense rocked back on its heels, the defense was off and running from the first snap till the last. If it wasn’t for them, this game could have turned out extremely differently.
Let’s talk star defenders from Saturday’s matchup. First is senior defensive tackle Daylon Mack. He changed numbers in the offseason and seems to finally turning the corner and becoming the player that the Aggies recruited him to be. Against Arkansas, Mack had a sack for nine yards and two tackles for loss.
Seniors Landis Durham and Kinglsey Keke both contributed two sacks on the afternoon. Both of these guys are important players for the Aggies this season and really showed their worth as they got up close and personal with the Razorback quarterbacks. Senior Donovan Wilson also had what could be called the play of the game as he corralled in the game winning interception.
This senior class is a big deal for Texas A&M and as a unit, they have bought into coach Mike Elko and are taking care of business week in and week out.
