Florida Football has quietly crept onto the national scene after an early stumble. What’s in store for the Gators in the month of October?

The Dan Mullen era in Gainesville has already been filled with several twists and turns. The infamous ending of “The Streak” in Week 2 against Kentucky was a dour spot of the 2018 campaign, but it turns out the Wildcats might be an elite team. What does that make Florida?

The Gators fancy themselves as a top-notch squad with some tweaks to be done before they reach their full potential. Outside of the road loss to Kentucky, Florida is 2-0 in their remaining conference games and 2-0 in non-conference play. They’ve put together a strong start to the season, but the road is about to get significantly more challenging.

October features three games and a bye week for Florida. The get things started in Week 6 against LSU, draw Vanderbilt on the road in Week 7 and have a bye before ending the month at home against Georgia in Week 9. If things break the right way, that could be for a shot at the SEC Title.

It’s a long way before the Gators can begin to entertain championship dreams. For now, let’s take a look at what’s in store for Florida in the month of October.
