4. Kylin Hill struggles, Aeris Williams takes over

When the season began, it looked like Aeris Williams would be an All-SEC running back with at least 1,000 yards under his belt for the second straight season, but that hasn’t quite been the case. He had just two carries through his first two games as Kylin Hill took over and came back in Week 3 to rush for over 100 yards and a touchdown on 11 touches.

Hill, a sophomore, had a breakout game against Kansas State in Week 2, rushing for over 200 yards and almost making Williams seem like a distant memory.

Things are starting to trend back in the direction of Williams, though, as the calendar turns over. Hill hasn’t broken the 45-yard rushing mark in the past three games, opening a door for Williams.

In October, we are going to see more of the old Williams and less of Hill as the senior running back assumes his role as the team’s No. 1 back. He’s going to average 100 yards per game on the ground, an impressive feat against the likes of LSU, Auburn and Texas A&M.
