LSU Football: 3 bold predictions for SEC bout vs. Florida in Week 6
By Shelbie Warr
This one is the battle of surprising SEC teams. Surging LSU football travels to The Swamp to take on a hot Florida Gators team. Let’s get bold, y’all.
LSU has rocketed to the No. 5 spot as it sits undefeated on the season after knocking out the likes of Miami and Auburn. Now, how good either of those teams are this season is still up for interpretation. Miami, without a stellar defensive performance, leaves quite a bit to be desired. Auburn has been underwhelming so far to say the least. They are sitting in the top 10, but struggling against Southern Miss isn’t exactly the way to stay there.
On the other side are the Florida Gators — a team that I’m surprised with so far this year. The Gators are fresh off an upset over Mississippi State and are now playing host to the LSU Tigers, a game that is always a fun one to watch.
Do the Gators, sitting at No. 22, have what it takes to knock the Tigers off their high horse or will No. 5 LSU continue to show that they could be a real threat in the SEC West this year? Let’s get bold and try to answer that exact question.
3. Ed Orgeron or Dan Mullen?
Dan Mullen is in his first year at Florida and has already knocked off his former team in Mississippi State. The Florida faithful were more than excited to have Mullen as their newest skipper, hoping that he can take this team back to it’s prominent spot in the SEC East.
Ed Orgeron has taken over for Les Miles and continues to shock the world, at least as much as LSU can. The Tigers have grown quite a bit as Orgeron is slowly taking this team and making it his own. That has truly started with graduate transfer Joe Burrow, one of the biggest players Orgeron has picked up so far in his Tiger tenure.
My first bold prediction is that this game shows us which of these two programs, which of these two coaches is at the point with his program that they can move to contender status instead of struggling to stick around in the middle of the conference.
