3. In a night all about Benny Snell, Trayveon Williams took the crown

The entire week leading up to the Texas A&M vs. Kentucky game, the media was talking about how great Benny Snell is and how he was going to run all over the daunting Aggie front line. The Kentucky football program itself made a website and a hype video for Benny Snell’s Heisman campaign, ready for him to just run circles around the Aggies. That, however, is not how it went down.

Between the rushing quarterback in Terry Wilson and Benny Snell, who has been known to talk about how great he thinks he is, only had 70 total rush yards on 30 attempts. On the opposite side, Trayveon Williams had 138 yards and the game-winning touchdown as he stole the SEC rushing crown from Snell.

Now, don’t think I am disrespecting Benny Snell or making it out to be that he is not as good as many are saying because he is. However, it would seem that if you eliminate the rushing attack as the Aggies did, Kentucky doesn’t have much to show in terms of offense.

Outside of Georgia, Kentucky may be able to squeak through this season without another loss as other teams don’t really have that strong of a rushing defense. They are no longer undefeated though, thanks to the powerful legs of Trayveon Williams who upstaged Benny Snell in the biggest way on Saturday night.
