2. Kliff Kingsbury got a signature win on this Thursday night.

Kliff Kingsbury has been the head coach of the Red Raiders since 2013, after he departed from Texas A&M where he was the offensive coordinator for Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. However, since he arrived at Tech, he hasn’t had the success that he wanted to and many were calling for him to be fired very early into his tenure. Honestly, I was one of those people who thought Kliff was just too young to be a head coach. Tonight against TCU, he proved us all wrong.

If you would have told me that Texas Tech would win a defensive shootout this season, I wouldn’t have believed you for a second. That is what happened though and head coach Kliff Kingsbury should get some kudos for that.

There was no Patrick Mahomes or Keke Coutee to save the day. There was no singular quarterback that Tech has really been able to stick with due to injury, but sophomore Jett Duffey got it done with his legs and through the air- giving his coach the win he really needed to start boosting his credibility as a head coach of a Power 5 team.
