At the halfway point of the college football season, some guys seem to be coaching for their lives. Who is on the must-win list heading into Week 7?

So far this season, one thing is for sure — the gap between Alabama and the rest of the nation is unmeasurable. However, while not every coach is as good as Nick Saban, most seem to be doing well enough to not be too worried about their job security — at least for this week.

We aren’t here to talk about those guys though, we are here to discuss the coaches who have quite a bit on the line as they head into Week 7. So, let’s get to it, shall we?

5. Gus Malzhan, Auburn Tigers

This may be the dumbest section I have written in my short career as a sports journalist, but we are talking about Gus Malzhan because the Auburn alumni and fanbase want him gone and fast. After losing to Mississippi State — in a big way — the Auburn Tigers are no longer in place to be the sneaky attacker in the SEC West.

Looking at the other guys on this list, the fact that a man who was in the SEC Championship game a season ago is absolutely crazy to me. However, there is a reason I don’t make the important coaching decisions and stuff I guess.

This week, Malzhan and his Tigers face off against a struggling Tennessee team at home. After they didn’t dominate Arkansas like the should have and lost to Mississippi State, Malzhan needs his team to really dominate against Tennessee in all aspects of the game.
